Prairie Birthday Companions:

Diana & Linda

For the past few years, I’ve been interning with Linda Hezel at her Prairie Birthday Farm to stay connected with nature. The farm has a hum that is unmistakable. When I quietly experience the land, there are bees buzzing, birds singing, ducks and chickens chatting, crickets and tree frogs babbling….I swear that even the plants are talking! Things from the natural world have long been the primary subject in my art. Kansas landscapes evolved into portraits of prairie grasses which evolved into close-ups of native plants. I am honored to be the featured artist at the Studio Above this month, and have invited Linda to join me at the opening so that she can share her farm vision and the exciting project space she has created for artists, chefs and interns. Come see my new art, and meet my friend in art, food and nature, Linda Hezel.
